Accident
Considering the passenger side airbag smacked him a good one in his car seat, I'm glad he wasn't hurt worse. And I'm doubly glad he has health insurance because his stay, X-rays, MRIs, IVs, meds, and ICU stay were all quite reasonable.
The car isn't as badly damaged as I was afraid in the dark last night. The mechanic hasn't looked at it yet - he's really busy - but since it's not leaking any fluids, he doesn't think it will be much to fix it.The biggest expenses will be the windshield and headlight assembly. I've asked Beaners to exercise his car parts mojo to find a new bumper, fender, headlight and windshield, so even that shouldn't be too bad.
And yes - I plan to fix this car instead of buying a new one. I can't afford a new car (and the attendant insurance)right now and whatever this will take to fix will be far less than a new car.
I know, the accident wasn't my fault and so my insurance shouldn't be affected by it. But the guy who hit me doesn't appear to have insurance so I'm on my own for this - which is why I asked Beaners for his help.

John
Itzl spent 24 hours in ICU and was sent home with a slew of meds and along list of things to watch for - and an addiction to canned chicken. Apparently he refused all food until they offered him some canned chicken.
Thank you for asking.
I read you car post. People without insurance infuriate me!!
I am glad you found most of what you needed easily and that you both are doing okay.
